2. Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting is an auto-fix method to fix computer issues, such as making your system run faster.
If your computer is running slow, troubleshooting might just be all you need to do to make it run faster.
Steps To Follow:
To troubleshoot, Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. Type troubleshoot in the search box and then click Troubleshooting. Now Under System and Security, click Check for performance issues. This will run through your system and fix any issues it encounters.
3. Uninstall Programme
The process of removing an already installed program could or will make your system run faster.
Try removing all unused program on your system to speed up system performance
Steps To Follow:
To uninstall, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. Type uninstall a program in the search box and then click the uninstall program. From the list of installed programs, right-click on any program and click uninstall to remove.
Note – Right-click on the window icon and click App & Feature in window 8 and 10 to uninstall a program
4. Remove Startup Programme
A startup program is a software program that launches itself every time you boot your system.
Some programs should be disabled from auto startup, this will make your computer boot and run faster. But most programs are better left alone, programs such as antivirus, firewall software, and window built-in software that keeps the system running.
How to remove startup programs
Press Start + R on the keyboard, Type MSConfig
Click the startup tab, and unmark the box to disable an application, and then click Apply
Restart for changes to take effect.
4. Virus
Getting rid of viruses in your system is very important, your computer running slow should be the least of your worries. Get a good antivirus to help you get rid of this virus. I will recommend Kaspersky, USB Disk Security, and Smadav.
5. Increase Memory
If you are running a 3D application or high graphics software, increasing your system memory can help make your system run faster, Most especially Video Editing If this doesn’t work then your graphics card might not be high enough. Graphics card might be another reason why your system runs slowly.
Bonus tips to make your system run faster
- Update your windows driver
- Turn off visual effects
- Run 1 or 2 programs at a time
- Free up hard disk space
- If everything fails, format and reload windows
- Finally, consider purchasing a system with a dedicated graphics card.
