Step 1. Click here to Install and Launch Snapchat on your device
Enter your username and password if you haven’t done that already.
Step 2. Take a picture. To do so, tap the wider, open circle in the screen’s bottom center.
The length of the video is determined by how long you keep the button down. Videos on Snapchat will last up to ten seconds.
Step 3. Now, Tap the timer icon. It’s in the screen’s lower-left corner.
Step 4. Choose a time frame. Choose a time between 1 and 10 seconds as you scroll through the options.
The amount of time your picture appears on screen for the recipient of your Snap or viewers of your Story is determined by the period you choose.
Step 5. Tap anywhere on your picture. The timer icon will show your chosen period in the middle.
To add text, pictures, and other features to your image, tap the editing tools in the upper right corner.
Step 6. Select “Send to”. It’s in the screen’s lower-right corner. Now, whoever you send the photo to, whether it’s a friend or your Story, will see it for the amount of timer on Snapchat you specified
- A Snap, which is an image or a short video that you just took, can be sent to specific people and will vanish until opened or added to your Story.
- Your Story is a series of Snaps you’ve taken in the last 24 hours and added to your Story.
- Snaps that are added to your Story are deleted after 24 hours.

- Tap the down arrow (“v”) on the right side of the camera screen.
- Select “Timer”

- As the app prepares to take a shot, a “3, 2, 1” countdown will appear on the phone. If the countdown is complete, a photo will be taken automatically.

How do I send my story to just one person?
Your friends’ list will show when you tap the arrow to send your snap. Simply choose a friend and tap the “send” button. You can only send it to “My Story” if your friends’ list is empty.
After taking a Snap, can’t find the timer on Snapchat in the lower-left corner?
When you take a video Snap, the timer does not show. Instead, the time limit would be the same as the duration of the video. When you take a camera Snap, the timer appears.
